She's Crafty...(singing to the Beastie Boys tune)

That is right, I am so excited to post some pictures of my crafty friend and her sweet family. She is such a good mom and happens to be the owner of POLKATOTZ, which I mentioned in a previous post.

I love this next one, Amy was laughing about something, and just embraced her hunny like a big old flirt. You guys are an amazing couple!!!

Photojournalist!

Photojournalism is art of photography in which the photographs tell a story. (That is my definition, you have to check Webster for the real one.) I have come to admire the work of Denis Reggie, a well known celebrity/"Whole Foods" (ha, ha, ha) wedding photographer. He is a true photojournalist. Since I was at least 16, I have always loved having a camera in hands. I jumped at the chance to work at a Photo Studio when I was 19 years old. Sorry, stay with me...

Though I learned alot about processing/developing photographs, studio photography was never my cup of tea. My favorite images were always the ones that told a beautiful story in a natural setting. I'll have to look through my old film, but I have this classic shot where my 1 year old son stole an egg out of my 2 year old niece's easter basket. She is dressed head to toe in pink flowers and ribbons, with a wailing tearful scream on her face. Over the years this has always been my forte'. To forsee 'the moment' and to compose and capture it beautifully. I love to capture people in their true element, not forced smiles. So as I grow my business here at erinTphotography, expect to talk and laugh with your loved ones as we enjoy our session together. If you are looking for a wedding photographer, expect to enjoy your wedding day, knowing that I will be in the background preserving those special moments. Little Lizzy

Last week I got to photograph Little Lizzy! She is quite the beauty. Her mom by the way, has three boys, before she got her little shopping partner. Her big brothers adore her though and she is going to be spoiled with LOVE to no end.

The City that doesn't Sleep!

Jake and I had a splendid time in New York. This is a photo from our hotel room window, looking down onto Time Square, which was always a buzz.

We took the double decker bus tour and couldn't get enough of all the amazing old buildings, the texture was stunning.

We took a stroll through Central Park, where I could live in a tent by the way, it is soooooooo beautiful.

And check out my mad skills, as a set the timer on my camera and grabbed this shot. Hey, a girls gotta do, what a girls gotta do to get a cute picture of her and her hubby.

We didn't want to miss a thing, so here is the Empire Sate Building.

And we took the boat over to Ellis Island.

One thing about New York, I feel like they do have more American Pride. They might be busy in the hussle and bussle, but they are really nice people who are proud to be American. I respect that...and hope everyone exercises their right to vote next month.

All in all, it was exhausting. There was so much to see and to do. We went to the Natural History Museum, where I decided I could homeschool my kids if we just lived inside of the museum. We went to New Jersey, just to get a nice view of Manhattan. We had New York style pizza, ate the most ridiculously huge sandwich at Carnegie Deli. We did the double decker bus, took a cab, rode on the subway, even the one that goes underneath the ocean....ahhhhh. We visited the site of the WTC, but there wasn't much to see but new construction going on...which was really nice. We walked across the Brooklyn Bridge, took a bike cab through Central Park, saw Phantom of the Opera, and ....I can't remember. I only took like 500 pictures, 50 of my favs which I put on Facebook. So feel free to check them out. The best part of it all, was that by the end, I really did miss my kids, all 4 of 'em!

Karah Girl

Here she is... my pretty Karah. First I have to say Happy Birthday to my baby, Rob, he is 1 years old today! We just went to good ol' Chuck E Cheese for dinner with our little family, but I haven't uploaded those pictures yet. So you get a few snapshots of my little sweetheart. I have to say this girl is MY pal. She might favor daddy, but I still favor her. After having boys for so many years, she is...well, refreshing. She says please and thank you without being prompted, and always a "sorry mommy" when she spills as she runs to get a towel to clean it up. Ohhhhh, I love it!!!

She has her brother's hat on, but polka dot ribbons on her pigtails, so cute!

Santa Style

I am so lame at coming up with good titles for my posts. Anyways, what this is really about is WHAT TO WEAR! First of all, I have two spots still open for my Christmas Promo this Saturday, at 3, and 3:30, so leave a comment or email me if you'd like one of those time slots. I am often asked what to wear for Christmas photos. I don't really have a Christmasee theme. I want to take a family portrait that you can hang on your wall all year and will look good with several Christmas card designs. Now that doesn't mean that you can't wear red, or even the Christmas line from Gymboree, by all means. But our backdrop will be nature, with a sleek white leather chaise. Please, please email me if you feel totally lost on outfits and I'd be happy to make a few suggestions!
Check out Miry, it is located at the Plaza in Riverside off Central. They have inexpensive, very trendy fashions for women. Anthropologie is another great store, check out their website for ideas. Old Navy is always a great place to shop for the whole family. Did I say boots, scarves, beanies, hats, high heels, jewelry, belts, etc? I LOVE accessories and think they can make a nice picture very exciting with all their texture!!! Here are a few ideas I pulled off the internet.





But my favorite look is something super fashionable...I want you to feel like a million bucks. It is all about the accessories!

Spark

Last week I had a wonderful session in San Diego, CA. I was able to attend the ceremony for my dear friends Ben and Luz. The ceremony was fairly early and I had quite a drive so I was able to catch some of the sunrise....something I haven't done in YEARS. It was breathtaking. Beautiful words were spoken during the ceremony which were for the couple, but resonated with me. It was fulfilling for my spirit.

Ben is such a genuinely nice guy!

Who, by the way, is absolutely, positively in love with Luz.

He can make Luz light up or laugh it up at the drop of a hat.

They didn't have bridesmaids and all that jazz, but Ben picked up the slack anyways.

Out of Town

So I convinced my hunny that I would be going crazy soon, if I didn't get a break. I just need a little weekend getaway to spend some time with him, spend some time with my friend "Quiet" and to recharge before the busy Holiday Season pounces on me. He obliged! YEAH! So I am going to resist the urge to check my email from Jake's iphone while we are on vacation.
