Pathetic

I am sadly posting for the third time today, HELLO, I need a life. But this this time no pretty pictures. I just quickly wanted to say thank you to all for the sweet compliments and emails I receive regarding my photography. Friends and strangers alike, I sincerly appreciate the kind words and motivation. Because this is my first year in business, it is hard to gauge where I feel I stand as a photographer. It is difficult for me not to compare myself to my inspiration photographers and feel, well...less than perfect. That being said, I am quickly embracing my own style and the passion I have for photography. So keep the comments coming, they keep me going! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Pumpkin Patch

Oh guys, I am so sorry, I can't seem to help myself sometimes. I was gonna take a break from blogging for awhile, but I can't resist but share some AUTUMN love. We finally made it to the Pumpkin Patch. Well, I met my sister Bonnie there as my hubby was working. And once again the beautiful sunset light just speaks to me. My sister tipped me off to a new patch that I've never been to be before and I AM IN LOVE. It is Greenspot in Mentone (between Redlands and Yucaipa.) It has the actual pumpkin patch farmland feel, without a million bouncers. It is backed up against the mountains and is just beautiful. Now there is a train ride and animals for petting, and I am definently wanting to go there at Christmas time as well.

You'd think they were peeing...but no, just checkin' out the pickins', meaning pumpkins...not their sister/cousin.

I know, a rare site of me on my photography blog! I think I'll keep it that way. Attempting a picture with my four children seems impossible! Leave it to the pros...just kidding!

This was in the Lost Maze. The kids were so scared, clinging to Aunt Bonnie for dear life.

Just a few more from our Halloween Fun! You'd think I was all crafty, but this was costume was seriously easier to make than it would be to take all 4 kids to the store to buy one.

I tried to get Brock to be a pair of dice with Nate, but being in 2nd grade and all, he just had to be something scarey!

Phew, made it through that marathon post. Happy Halloween!

See the light...

The warm yellow light of the sunset is my all time favorite natural light. It is always accentuated beautifully by texture. So around sunset, which will be getting very early in a few days...let the kids play outdoors while you sit back with the camera and preserve some cherished childhood moments. I had so many favorites from this recent family session, it was difficult to pick just a few for the blog.

Vintage Inspired!

A photographer is an artist in many ways. On these images I took a little more liberty than I usually do. I still love the straight out of the camera shots, with vibrant colors and real moments. But this photo shoot was vintage inspired at the museum at March Air Force Base, so I decided to create a few aged images, leave a comment and tell me what you think?

On another note, it was like a full circle moment for me to be shooting at MAFB. I was actually born at the hospital on March Air Force Base, though I haven't lived here my whole life. I lived in Texas and Utah as well. Very cool!
